1. YOUR CONSULTATION
Before any botox treatment with Dr Emma a full consultation will take place. During this session we can discuss the treatment options and any questions you may have, alongside your aesthetic goals so each treatment can be tailored specifically to you. There is no pressure to go ahead with Botox treatment after the consultation, the main objective is to give you all the information you need to make an informed decision.
2. YOUR TREATMENT
If you do decide to go ahead with your Botox treatment this will performed by Dr Emma in her relaxing Cheshire based clinic. Appointments are not rushed, and care is taken throughout to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible. It is normal to feel a little nervous before your first treatment, but Dr Emma will talk you through everything and you can be confident that you are in safe hands.
3. YOUR AFTERCARE
For every Botox treatment Dr Emma offers a review appointment at 2 weeks. This is the length of time it takes for the Botox to take effect, so at this point we can assess results thoroughly. You will also be given a comprehensive aftercare form and can contact Dr Emma with any questions should you need to.
FAQS
WHAT IS BOTOX?
Botox is the brand name for botulinum toxin type A. This is a muscle relaxer that’s been used for decades in medicine to treat a number of medical conditions and is also now used globally for aesthetic purposes.
HOW DOES BOTOX WORK?
Botox blocks certain chemical signals from the brain to your muscle which causes it to relax or contract. Over time (usually 3/4 months) your body overcomes the effects of Botox and these signals return to normal.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREAT WITH BOTOX?
Botox for frown lines
Botox for Crows feet
Botox for bunny lines
Botox for forehead lines
Botox for dimpled chin
Botox for neck bands
Botox for gummy smile
We can also use botox to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
AM I SUITABLE FOR TREATMENT?
In order to assess suitability Dr Emma will discuss your concerns and perform a facial assessment during the consultation in her clinic based in Hale, Altrincham Cheshire.
At this point she will also review your medical history to check there are no contraindications to treatment. You may not have anti-wrinkle injections if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
WHAT TYPE OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?
The results that we achieve will be tailored specifically to your own ideals and what is appropriate for your facial anatomy. Botox takes two weeks to take effect, and the results will appear gradually over this time. Dr Emma also offers a two-week review appointment to assess we have achieved the results you wish.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME FOLLOWING TREATMENT?
Downtime is minimal for this treatment. Slight bruising may occur from the treatment which can be covered with makeup if needed the day after.
HOW PAINFUL IS THE TREATMENT?
Many people describe the treatment as a ‘mild sting,’ and find it very comfortable. We use the smallest needles available to make the process as painless as possible. Dr Emma can apply numbing cream prior to your botox treatment if needed although most treatments are performed very comfortably without.
HOW LONG WILL RESULTS LAST?
Approximately 3-4 months
DO I NEED TO FOLLOW ANY AFTERCARE?
After being treated with botox you should avoid makeup for at least 4 hours post treatment. We would also ask that you avoid heavy exercise, alcohol and extremes of temperatures for 24 hours post treatment. A detailed aftercare leaflet will be emailed to you post treatment.
HOW MUCH DOES TREATMENT COST?
Treatments with botox start from £190
